Cultural Food Preparation
Dr.Abebech Gobena was born from her father Ato Gofe Heye and her Mother Wosene Biru on October 20, 1935 in North Shoa Gerar Jarso Woreda Torben Ashe Kebele in the Village Called Shebel Abo. Since her father, Gofe Heye, was killed by Italian invaders at her age of one, she grew up by her grandfather Heye Bedissie.
Resource Mobilization
Abebech Gobena Charity is making every effort to reduce its dependence on external assistance. To this effect, it has undertaken income generating activities that promote self-support. The history of income generation activities of Abebech Gobena Charity goes with the start of the Charity’s work, with the meager income earned by selling local drinks and food (Tej ,Tella and Kollo) to provide the children food, clothing, education and medical care. Currently, the charity is involved in various income generating activities including
- Mothers and Children Medical Center
- Food production
- Other Services
- Sweater knitting
- Cafeteria
- Shower services
